AI didn’t replace thinking. It exposed how little thinking we automate

For years, automation was about removing repetitive work.
Now AI is touching areas we thought required judgment, creativity, and reasoning.

What’s interesting is not that AI can generate answers
it’s that many workflows were already operating on shallow thinking.

When an AI can replicate a task easily, it often reveals that the task itself wasn’t deeply intellectual to begin with.
This creates an uncomfortable question:
how much of what we call “knowledge work” is actually pattern repetition?

Maybe the real challenge isn’t AI becoming smarter
but humans needing to redefine what thinking really means.
